In May, we honor our oldest generations’ contribution to our nation. President Joseph Biden released a proclamation. This statement resonates with our duty to others. “During Older Americans Month, let us pay tribute to the seniors who raised and guided us throughout our lives, and let us renew our commitment to honoring their contributions by giving them the fullest care, support, and respect they deserve.”
Older Americans Month 2022’s theme is Age My Way. You cannot get more American than that! Collectively, we place a high value on independence. REUNIONCare joins other service providers who believe that dignity and respect of older Americans ranks as high as autonomy, which is why CreditForCaring exists today. Here are five CreditForCaring free features for older Americans and those who serve them.
1. Create a Free Account
Let’s get started by creating a secure personal account. Your personal data will be used to support your experience throughout this website, to manage access to your account, and for other purposes described in our privacy policy. Your information will never be shared or sold; it is safe with us. Our credit card processing has earned us the Secure Trust seal of approval. We are proud of the payment services we created to protect you and ourselves from fraud and theft.
2. Joining Forces with Other Care Providers
We offer a different type of free account for service providers called an Alliance Program. As an Alliance Member, every person within your organization is entitled to receive special promotional discounts and earn points on every purchase. Each organization is assigned a unique link (URL) upon account sign-up for them to share with others.
3. No Wrong Door for Finding Help
Search engines, like Google, Bing, and Yelp, fail to understand the complex needs of older Americans. Remember there is no one size fits all when it comes to successful aging in the community. Credit For Caring Resource Directory is the search engine you can count on. Think of this free service as your virtual social worker.
Our Resource Directory covers care from A to Z, soup to nuts. No two care journeys are the same. We each come into this work with different needs and resources. We have curated the best help for you in one place. In fact, you can build your own customized care plan using the strategies and experts we feature under each topic.
4. Shop Online and Store Selections Using a Wish List
Our shopping experience is divided into aisles when you hover over the shop button. Once an item is select, then click the wishlist icon on that page. A wishlist is started with your first item. Follow the directions to name your list and save it. It’s that easy! Add additional products, there is no obligation to purchase.
Share the unique wishlist link with others who want to help. In fact, home care agencies are using wishlist technology in their care plans. Families love this easy way to participate in a loved one’s care.
5. Aging in Place Made Easy
We have lived the frustration of looking for answers and finding none. Our Product Finder Tools remove some of the hassles you are experiencing. Answer our short surveys then we send you a list of recommendations. It’s that easy.
The Aging in Place tab reveals three free survey tools. The Product Finder Tool contains questions based on the types of activities you perform daily and view recommended products. The second tool focuses on home safety with questions about each room of a typical home. The third finder tool is the quick way to use the Resource Directory Complete this quick questionnaire to see what options are available to you for finding help or assistance.
Lastly, Thank You Generations United!
Programs are authorized under the Older Americans Act with food, health care, and other home and community-based services for our most vulnerable people and their caregivers. One of our favorite new programs is the establishment of the National Technical Assistance Center on Grand families and Kinship Families, to give much-needed aid to those older Americans who have stepped up to parent the next generation of Americans. No generation is an island or has all the right answers. We need to each to Age My Way!
Yours In Health,
Monica
