The Unseen Struggles of Black Caregivers: A Call for Support and Change

Black caregivers face overwhelming challenges—financial strain, job insecurity, social isolation, family pressures, and physical exhaustion. African American caregivers are more likely to struggle with lower income levels, making caregiving costs harder to manage. Racism and discrimination in healthcare add even more stress. Cultural norms often pressure family members to take on caregiving roles without support. Poor health outcomes in Black communities increase caregiving demands, and many serve as kinship caregivers, adding complexity. It’s time to recognize, support, and uplift Black caregivers who give so much!  Pass the Credit for Caring Act NOW. #creditforcaring  #CaregiverSupport #BlackCaregivers #MentalHealthMatters #HealthEquity
